this only lists on-screen appearances or exposition passages that i thought were particularly noteworthy or characterful; characters being mentioned in the third person or delivering minor plot-related speaking lines were skipped unless they involved important lore drops.
❤ = beefleaf are both involved. sqx has many appearances without ming yi/he xuan being present, but i’ve included most of them anyway for the sake of characterization.
bolded chapter numbers = the "essential" beefleaf content. chapter divisions taken from 7S releases.
vol. 1
- ch 8: shortened distance, adrift in sandstorms ❤ (232 + 266-269)
- ch 10: wind master in white, bellowing sandstorms from nowhere ❤ (340-349)

- ch 12-16: from ‘in the palace of divine might, crown prince meets crown prince’ to ‘borrowing luck, night crawl in paradise manor’ (sqx throughout, ming yi appears last page of ch 16)
